Hair is my roots, care is my future
One signature, one strand of change. Together, we weave a future where everyone can care for their hair with pride and peace of mind.

For people with textured or curly hair, care is more than style—it’s a cultural practice that supports health, identity, and well-being.
Japan’s beauty industry is admired for its skill and dedication. As the international community grows, there’s increasing need for professionals experienced with diverse hair textures. While existing visa categories could, in theory, apply to foreign-trained cosmetologists, strict requirements make it difficult for them to begin working right away.
Creating more inclusive pathways would help meet community needs and promote cultural exchange within Japan’s evolving beauty industry.
Legacy Foundation Japan invites you to join our Hair Care Accessibility and Mental Health in Japan survey and petition to help build a more inclusive future.

Introducing #StrandsofChange —A Final Thought
As we continue growing together as a community, Strands of Change reminds us that every story, every connection, and every act of care matters. This movement was created to bridge the conversation between hair, identity, and mental health — showing how deeply our confidence and well-being are intertwined.
Each strand represents something greater: strength, unity, and transformation. Whether it’s through dialogue, creativity, or everyday kindness, we all have the power to be a strand of change in our communities.
Because true transformation doesn’t happen alone — it takes all of our strands to make the change. 🧡
