Walk Recap

On Wednesday, June 19, we hosted the first EVER International Opal’s Walk for Freedom. Almost 100 participants walked 2.5 km around the Imperial Palace, to honor the 2.5 years it took for news of emancipation to reach the enslaved people in Texas and to mark history in not only Japan, but in the world.

Our walk and Dr. Lee’s visit to Japan was even featured on TBS News! Watch us below:

Gala Recap

We had so much fun celebrating the legacy of Juneteenth with you at our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Gala! This year’s theme was “Together We Stand”, and that we did. Check out the recap here, written by Joshua Rafael Mueda!

Japanese language.

Study Abroad 4711 (4711) is a study abroad organization that provides
opportunities for individuals who are interested in traveling
internationally and lifelong learners who have a strong enthusiasm for
global education. Our purpose at 4711 is to provide affordable and fully
immersive intercultural experiences in the field of international
education for all students, particularly those from Historically Black
Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and BIPOC communities. We aim to
empower students to explore their own journeys and prepare them for the
globalized workforce.

The partner institution of Study Abroad 4711, located in Shinjuku, is
well acknowledged as a frontrunner in the field of Japanese language
teaching. Tokyo is renowned for its immersive experience in Japanese
language and culture. The school serves as a hub for diligent students,
study abroad participants, aspiring educators, interns, professors, and
professionals.
